How is the RD (Registered Dietitian) or RDN (Registered Dietitian Nutritionist) different from a nutritionist?
The "RD" credential is a legally protected title that can only be used by practitioners who are authorized by the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the American Dietetic Association.
Some Registered Dietitians may call themselves "nutritionists," but not all nutritionists are registered dietitians. The definition and requirements for the term "nutritionist" vary. Some states have licensure laws that define the range of practice for someone using the designation "nutritionist," but in other states, virtually anyone can call him- or herself a "nutritionist" regardless of education or training.
Individuals with the RD credential have fulfilled specific requirements, including having earned at least a bachelor's degree, have completed a supervised practice program and passed a registration examination — in addition to maintaining continuing education requirements for re-certification.
** Regardless of title, make sure any health professional whose services you seek is knowledgeable and working within his or her scope of practice. It's also important to find someone who specializes in what you need. You are your own best advocate.

Do you accept insurance?
I currently do not accept insurance however sometimes your insurance will provide reimbursement for nutrition services.
Do I have to go on a diet?
I believe a diet is basically what you eat. It's not something you do.
Typical "diets" are difficult to sustain and are rarely maintained. I
will work with you to make sustainable changes to the way you eat so
that healthier eating is second nature not hard work.
