The following is a list of why I have been attending the Local Food Summit for the past 4 years and why I have spent 2 terms on the planning committee for it. I believe it's a great event in our community and everyone who has a chance to attend should do so at least once. Some of my reasons may sound like duplicates but that's because they're really really good reasons ;) To learn more about the Local Food Summit you can visit localfoodsummit.org or check it out on facebook. My top 10 reasons I choose to attend the Local Food Summit
The entire day is about FOOD.
Spending time with people who are energized and excited about celebrating good food.
I'm on the planning board (to spend more time with cool people with whom I share common interests and to contribute to my community).
To eat amazing food grown and prepared by amazing people who really care about good, quality, healthy food.
I enjoy being part of something bigger! Amazing things happen when people gather and work well as a team.
Learning and discovering more about food, nutrition, growing food, and community.
Great conversation happens when people eat together. Two heads are better than one!
Inspiring people and stories.
Many ideas, opinions and beliefs all under one roof pushing for change and challenging me to think outside the box.
